Sailing is supposed to be fun and the E-boats make the most of it! Combining the feel of a dinghy with the bulk of a 22 feet keelboat it's a popular class that makes everyone who sails them smile. The class itself has a fine history designed by Julian Everitt in 1976, with the region of 250 E-Boats currently sailing around the world.
Like all our local boats they are popular with our adult sailing course trainees, in no small part due to the likable bunch of crews and skippers who sail them. Equally competitive and fun, Clontarf Yacht & Boat Club houses a healthy fleet of 14 boats that regularly race throughout the year. Open events are also a key part of the scene with annual outings to local regatta's. Skerries Sailing Club also have a strong representation of E-boats too and the National Championships alternate between the two locations.
