Junior Training
The Club provides a summer sailing course each year for Junior members of our club. Our principal aim is to provide an enjoyable learning experience for young people within a friendly social framework.
If our adult sailing activities seem like fun the junior sailing programme is jam-packed full of everything our young sailors need to succeed. Clontarf Yacht & Boat Club pioneered junior sailing in Dublin and our first junior course kicked off way back in 1964. A lot and yet little has changed since then.
The clubs Junior Committee spend the year planning all the water activity for the Juniors of the club. This years course is scheduled to run from 30th June 2025 until Friday the 25th of July over a 4 week period with a number of scheduled junior sailing Sunday's both before the course and after the course.
CY&BC 2025 Junior Programme outline
- 4 week Summer Sailing Course with completion of an Irish Sailing recognised certificate upon completion.
- Sailing each day (weather dependent) with appropriate theory in group level
- Hot choc offered each day
- Male and Female changing rooms with hot shower
- Day trip sail to beach with picnic arranged.
- Structured fun on and around the water under supervision of Irish Sailing Qualified Instructors
- CY&BC famous Bake Off competition
