Sail Training

CY&BC were the proud winners of the ISA East Region Training Centre of the Year 2016, a reflection of the wide variety of training and support we give to our members at all stages of their sailing and boating journeys. CY&BC runs a popular Adult Sailing Course every May that gives an introduction to sailing and boating members over a week long course. Trainees also learn the basics of safety at sea, sailing theory, weather and tides. Trainees who opt to join following the course can follow up on their training with ISA dinghy courses using boats rented from our club. There are lots of opportunities to crew for other boat owners too on dinghies, E-boats or Cruisers.

Our Junior Section run very popular training courses in the summer months too for younger sailors aged 12-18. CY&BC also partner with Adventure Training Ireland to do Power Boat licences and courses on the River Liffey.

Members also take part in our popular land based training during the winter months including First Aid, Navigation for Small Boats, VHF Radio, Race Management and other useful courses.
